Editorial Standards

Everything published under vellixiotech.com is written by the VellixioTech team. We are a software studio building websites, applications and digital products, and the free tools on this site grew out of utilities we originally built for our own client work.

We do not accept guest posts, we do not publish sponsored articles presented as editorial, and we do not buy or syndicate content from third-party writing services. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page and labelled clearly on the articles concerned.

Our how-to guides describe steps we have actually performed. When a guide references one of our own tools, the procedure has been carried out end to end on real files before publication, and the described result is the result we observed.

Where a guide covers third-party software — Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, macOS Preview and so on — we verify the steps against the current release at the time of writing and name the version we tested. Interfaces change, and a guide that silently describes a five-year-old menu layout is worse than no guide at all.

We describe what our tools genuinely do, including their limits. Our browser-based PDF tools process files locally on your device, so we say so — but we also state plainly where a tool has constraints, such as very large files being limited by available memory, or optical character recognition being less reliable on poor-quality scans.

We have removed capability claims from this site before, on discovering that documentation described behaviour a tool did not fully deliver. We would rather publish a narrower accurate description than an impressive one that disappoints on first use.

If something here is wrong, we want to fix it rather than quietly leave it. Material corrections to a published guide are made in the article itself, and significant changes are noted so readers can see the article was revised.

To report an error, use the contact form and mention the page URL. We read every message. Reports that identify a genuine factual problem are prioritised over everything else in our content queue.

The free tools section of this site carries third-party advertising, which is what allows the tools to stay free and free of signup requirements. Advertising is confined to the tools section; our main site pages carry no ad inventory.

Advertisers have no input into what we publish. No advertiser sees an article before it goes live, and no commercial relationship influences whether we recommend a piece of software, including software that competes with our own tools. Ad units are positioned so they are distinguishable from page content and never placed to invite an accidental click on a tool control.

Our PDF and document tools run in your browser. Files you open in them are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers, which is why the tools work without an account and why we hold no copy of your documents.
